Starting Over - Please help

Re-did my car audio install, AMP will not turn on.

So here is what I did since I have been having electrical issues.

1- New 4-gauge connected directly to battery post and other end at the amp. Has 60AMP fuse with holder
2- New 4-gauge from car frame to amp.
3- New remote wire (seems 12-14 gauge)

Voltage at AMP reads 14.3V with car running, 12.3 when car is off.
If I put voltage on the remote wire, voltage is just reading 10.8V, AMP will not turn on. (Voltage between AMP ground and remote as well as AMP + and -)

Tried older working amp and Low Voltage light comes on when connected.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you

Hello and welcome to the Forum. Sorry to hear your having some issues with your Amp install. I am not sure what type of Wire you have used for your Amp turn on but sounds like it is to long and to small for the distance.

With that said there is something I would do. Check your Voltage at the head unit amp/antenna trigger wire. If it is 12 to 13.8 + then there is to small of wire. If you don't want to get a new wire to replace that one you may be able to set up a EMS from the amp area to get a good amp trigger. At times I have had to do this when I have had to many Amps being fed by a weak trigger wire. A easy 4 pin set up is all that is needed.

Hope this helps Let us know what you do to fix your problem

James
