steering wheel controls - do you loose the function with an aftermarket receiver
I killed my CD player (see other post) and was going to buy an aftermarket system and install in into my 2004 sienna. the installation looks relatively straight forward (since all I want to do is install a stereo) but reading through the sites a couple of other questions come into play:
1. do i loose control of the steering wheel functions (band, volume up and down, etc..)
2. in the back seats there is an entertainment system that can control the CD, Tape or radio (ie. I can listen to the radio while the passengers in the back with headphones can listen to CD or tape) - will I loose this function as well with an aftermarket system?
Help will be appreciated...this is the last time I let my 2 years put in a CD...LOL

1. yes you will loose it unlees your deck is compatible for a steering weel control. and the control can be had for about 90$.
2. im not sure but im pretty sure that you loose your back control. AND you can even forget about rear passengers listening to a cd or radio. unless you are and well... i find it useless anyway

Rear seat controls, see you later. For the steering wheel interface goes, a toyota vehicle for the most part should be (not 100%) compatible with Eclipse radios and their steering wheel control wires. (this is due to Eclipse's parent company supplying toyota with their factory radios). In the odd chance that they are not compatable using the wired inputs, then there are aftermarket interface adaptors that are used and that would need to be used with all other brands of headunits.
