If possible would it be best to have the subwoofers mounted on the rear deck with a sealed enclosure mounted below the deck? This way you'd have the bass right in the car or is the trunk better with the firing to the rear?

Well I placed them just under the rear deck with the decking removed and the bass is much tighter sounding. I'm thinking you're right!

I did this also with 4 8's for my mids and they were awsome as well I had 4 12's behind the seats driving right into the backseats. That also was awsome. Good luck with your install.

Mounting a sub in/on the back deck can be a great idea. I did a system into a 95 XJS12 Jag. I used a sono tube(a big carboard tube use for pouring concert into) And just fiberglasses it and it work out great. Just make sure you have the right air space and you should be alright!!!
