The system I'm building on $150
I actually installed the sub last night. I used the same enclosure that my eD9Kv.2 was in 1.2 cubes tuned to 30Hz. So far I've been happy with it, and I likely won't be using the sub for long term.
Last night I won this auction on e-bay from that same guy I've been getting a lot of my stuff from. I'm hoping that 2 of the Pioneer TS-W257D4 are in working order and I'll build a 3 cube ABC box for them . . .
I just hope that there are a few working subs in that lot, so I didn't just waste $50 . . . I'll go get 'em on Thursday and hopefully test them out this weekend.

Yeah, I think that Kenwood might be a right-off . . .
I paid for the lot today. After taxes, handling fees and exchange rate it the total was $50.77 CDN. Still not bad. And if I get 2 working subs out of the lot, I think its a good price - more than 2 working subs and I'll be a happy camper!
I'm not getting my hopes up too high, but I'm looking forward to testing them out and trying to learn some DIY sub repair. I'll post the test results of the lot when I've had time to play with them all.

wow verry nice, its great to see someone doing a system not just to be the loudest or the best sounding but because you enjoy it. and to take such a small budget and do what you have done , verry impressive keep up the good work.
I'm still amazed by this thread, times are tough these days the smart people are putting family first! Good job can't wait to see what's next, judging by ur admireation (is that a word?) I bet u could do fiberglass you shouls give it a try to maybe fix ur pannels. I bet you could do it if u wanted to don't stop now uv gotten far enough.
I picked up the sub-woofers, and I think found an awesome deal!
I have not yet tested them electrically.
I visually inspected the surrounds, cones, spiders, tinsel leads and terminals.
I mechanically tested the cones by gently applying even downward pressure on the cone; I also moved the cones upward by reaching my fingers through basket to the back of the cone and gently lifting the cone up.
Here is what I found:
Pioneer:
TS-W257D4: All 4 are good! Based on their "stiffness" 2 of the subs have been fully worked in and the other two might not have even seen power yet (Or perhaps a very short time of power . . . I wonder if a person bought them, and returned them b/c they didn't think they were loud enough and didn't realize that the subs need a break in period.)
TS-W307D4: All good so far! Its suspension feels on the stiffer side, but it might just be designed to be stiffer than the 10"
MTX TC710: All good - suspension is good and stiff - I'm not sure if its not broken in yet, or if is just a stiff sub.
MTX TC512: 2 of them are good - the 3rd is good just the negative spade speaker terminal has come off and is hanging by the tinsel - I should be able to fix that with some reinforcement and glue.
Rockford P210D??: One of them is a dual 4 the other is unknown yet (I'll find that out when I meter them later one). Mostly good. One has both sets of terminals snapped off the basket - I'm not sure how easy this will be to fix as metal mounting tabs from the basket are what broke off. This sub also has a small spider crack on the cone, but I don't think this affects the performance of the sub. On the other Rockford, one tinsel lead has come off the terminal (and the second tinsel is about to go soon). With a little TLC and solder, I should be able to easily fix that.
MTX TC510 - Both blown. One is thoroughly fried - I had to press hard just make the voice coil move and it was squeaking and creaking. The other one had some scrapes and rattles and unevenness to it. So it is not as badly blown. Either way, I think that both of these subs are a right off.
Kenwood W3011 - One - obviously obliterated as the picture indicated. The second one is blown. The second one has upward cone excursion but will not go down at all.
So without yet testing resistance, or applying power to them, it appears as though I have 8 subs that are good to go; 3 more that will require some work; 4 that are baked.
So if anyone is interested in any of the above let me know. (I'll post in the for-sale section when I've completed all of my tests).

Without bringing a multimeter and a 4 leafed clover, I wouldn't bother with it. It looks to me like it is a bunch of blown woofers needing re-cones. IMO These are not worthy of it.
