testing a deck.
my friend gave me a deck and is unsure if it works or not just wondering if anyone knows how i can test it to see if it works without hooking it up to my car?

You could hook the power and grounds directly to the battery.

like pop the hood put the + on the positive terminal and the ground on the negative of the battery?

yea.. put the positive on the positive and negative on the negative, You might also have to put the power acc wire to the battery to... so (Red and yellow to the + & black to the -) on your car battery

were do ya think the deck gets its power from when its in the dash?....Just make sure the power wire is fused for the size the deck requires.
