Is there anything I need to know before I use a digital toslink cable?

I know you are not supposed to bend it too much. The Alpine manual also states that nothing should be placed on the cable. How the heck am I going to get the cable to the back?

Any help/tips appreciated.

As usual, Defro, thanks for your help.

I also found a 90 degree swiveling Toslink connector at Radio Shack. This should help a bit with plugging into the back of the deck.

OK, if it causes problems, I can always return the item. I also bought expensive heavy duty cable. Was told it was less prone to problems due to being stepped on or bent sharply.

I also have a Monster TOSLINK cable and never had a problem. It is not as fragile as some migh think.

I use a super thin, super cheap one for cd changer duties. It's been in the trunk for about five months now without any problems

Anyone have links to high-end Toslink cables?

I'm looking for one around 15-20 ft and another around 6 ft.

Thx

Some background why not all Toslink cables are created equal... basically quartz glass vs. plastic plus the jacket cannot introduce reflections when the cable is bent. Read here:
