un-installing a capacitor?
Uninstalling it is the same as any battery. Just take off all connecting wires from it. Order doesn't matter.
It should have come with a small resister to charge it. Use it again on the ground side to discharge it.

Disconnect the negative first (this is because if you then touch the negative cable against the car's chassis, it won't "blow").
Then disconnect the remaining positive cables.
To discharge, connect the clip part of your test light to one of the posts, and the test light's probe to the other. It'll light up. When the light has gone COMPLETELY out (about 5 minutes with a 1 farad cap), your cap is discharged.
Install is the reverse... Connect all positives, then when you're about to connect the ground, you need to charge it. Hook the test light's clip to the cable, and the probe to the negative post on the cap. When the light goes out, it's all charged up.
