use a fused distribution block or not ??

When installing a distribution block for adding a 2nd amp , is a fused block required or not ? There is already a fuse up by the battery and the amps have their own fuses. When would you use a fused block and when would you not need a fused block since I see both types are available. Thanks!

Just my $.02 but if there is fuses at both ends, why would you need any in the middle ?

As practice you should use a fused distribution.

go to this site and scroll down to "fuses" on the right side....read it as there is all the information you require there.

Would you please explain why ? Fuse at batt protects from short burning up car . Fuse at amp protects it . Knowledge is good ... ignorance is dangerous!

The fuse at the amp isn't going to protect the wire when it gets shorted.
Fuses protect the wire and stop the car from burning up!!

The non fused distrobution block is for grounds.

As TOM mentioned, the wire from the distro block to the amp is left unprotected if it's of a smaller awg rating than your main power wire(typically the situation). If there was a short between the amp and the distro, the smaller wire would not be able to carry the amount of current provided by the larger main wire, and could burn (overheat) before the main fuse blows.

Lightbulb

^ Exactly. If you're running a big beefy fuse under the hood it may be larger than the capacity of a small wire coming out of the distribution block. Better to go with a fused one.
