Volume Problems Problems
 

Hopefully someone will read this and have the answer. I just installed this deck with an EQ. I'm pretty sure I have all the wiring correctly. When I turn the key to the first position the stereo come on but the volume it way low; when I turn it to the second position the stereo turns on with full sound; then when I start my car it has the volume problem again. I have to turn it up just to hear anything. I'm pretty sure the speakers aren't grounding out also. If someone could help it would be much oblige

Sounds to me like a switched power source problem?
Were are you getting youre switched power from for the deck and the eq?
Check them with a dmm and see if one is losing power when the key is in different positions.

they're both running off the same wire.

Thats weird, it was just an idea tho, i would try a different power source to see if its possibly that wire is not enuf power to run both? just another idea?

I tried to re-wire everything. I made it perfect... I'm not getting that problem anymore. Now its all scratchy and when I turn the car on it won't even work. I think the deck is crap.... I'm just going to wire up my old one again. Thanks for your help!
