Weird screaching sound

I have been testing my lights and my new box today and am having some troubles. The lights are making a screaching sound when they are hooked up, and the fuse between the battery and my amp is in,but when the fuse is out they stop making the screaching sound. I dont think it is the ground because it is grounded straight to the battery. what else could it be?

Well, I would take the ground from the amp off the battery and attach it to a pure metal surface such as the chassis. Amp's use +12V, remote, and ground wires, not +12, remote, and negative. Negative doesn't constitute as a ground.

If you ever hear a buzz or screeching sound coming from anything electrical, check for a bad ground.

i figured it out i had the power wires crossed with some of the speaker wires which was making the noise when the amp turned on

guy.... whatever you did that solved the problem.... it was not because you had power wires crossed with speaker wires..... or RCA cables for that matter......

I agree and get a fuse between the switch and the + on the battery.
