wiring my subs to amp

hey there ihave four 4 ohm SVC subs and a 1000 watt monoblock amp i was wondering how do i wire these to get the loudest result, i realize the amp is way to small for my subs but its all i have to work with right now, any help would be greatly appreciated, by the way the amp has a switch that say 1 ohm load or 2-4 ohm load which mode should it be at thanks

Wire two subs in parallel, the other two subs in parallel, then take ur two sets and wire them out to the amp in parallel, giving a 1 ohm load.

^^^x2, all the speaker's + leads to the + amp speaker terminal and same for the - leads, the amp will deliver 250 watts to each driver..assuming it's 1000 watts @ 1 ohm.
