I'm going to be running a DD 15" 9500 series powered by a Hifonics BXi 2006D
amplifier. I'm also going to be running a Kenwood 4/3/2 channel amplifier to power 4 kenwood component sets for highs and mids. I am also running a 2 farad capacitor. I am debating whether or not to run distribution blocks for the power and ground connections to the amps and capacitor or if I should just connect all power and ground connections to the capacitor effectively using the capacitor as a distribution block. What are your thoughts?

 

Your 2 amps need to be fused separately, with different value fuses, so you need a fused distribution block. Fuse your main power line near the battery and run to the distribution block and the cap.
My distribution block had room for three 0 ga on the input side, so I did one from the battery and 1 to each cap. Or, you can wire battery to fuse, to cap, to fuse block, to amp.
Grounds can be on a distribution block or the chassis, dosen't matter as long as they're good.
Make sure the rest of the wiring on your car is up to par and don't forget to add 0 ga battery to chassis.

 

If your amps are fused there is no need for a fused distro.

Fuse under the hood protects the wiring and fuse on the amps protects the amp.

You can get unfused distro in many flavors, as small as 4awg in to 8awg right up to 1/0 in with mulitple 4awg outs.

Any idea where I can find out what size fuses I need for my amps? I checked the documentation but didn't see an amperage rating. Also, do you have a link to a table or any info regarding what power handling each gauge of wiring is good to? Thanks.

2000 wrms wioll draw up to 100 amps.
Use 0 ga from battery with 150 fuse to cap and dist block, 2 ga for your big amp with 100 fuse and 40 fuse on 4 ga to the little amp.

Does anyone know where I can pick up 2 gauge power wire in the edmonton area? I have seen pretty much every gauge but 2 gauge...

 

on my bxi2006 i use 0ga, and a 250 amp fuse with no distro block. i picked up the wire at princess auto (if you have one there) for 2.50ft.

i would use the biggest ga possible on that amp if possible.
