Wiring up fuse for power line.

Hey guys, I currently have 1 run of 4ga in my car split up into 2 8ga for my rear amp and my amp for my sub.

I got a new amp for my front components and i also got a free 4ga amp kit with it.

I was thinking of running 2 runs of 4ga. instead of throwing out my wire and getting a 2 or 0 ga. I might as well use it.

So I was thinking, should I just run both wire running a fuse each? One is 100amp ANL fuse and the other is a 80A maxi fuse.

Would it be okay to run both runs into the 100A anl fuse? So I would have to 4gauge runs from the positive terminal, into the fuse holder, and on the other end of the fuse would be two runs of 4ga hooked up to it ? I want an amp mounted under my passeneger seat and one run to the trunk which would make sense for me to do this, does anyone see this being a problem?

Or should I just have an independent fuse for each run.

thanks

Electrically it's the same, as long as the fuse(s) doesn't blow when you hit the volume it's all good.....

From an installation view it would look kind of ghetto to have 2 4ga wires jammed into the end of a single fuse-holder unless you plan on getting a distro block for under the hood.....

Personally I would suggest getting the proper size wire for the whole system and installing that with the appropriate fuse holder and terminal rings.....

Thanks for the quick reply, that is what I was expecting but wasn't 100%.

And yes from an installation point of view it is ghetto but its just for personal use, no car shows or anything. No one will be looking under the hood of my stock car

As for the proper size, yeah I fully agree but at this point I have the stuff available, I might as well put it to use. Also another reason I think this way might be a bit more beneficial for me is that I need power at two different locations. OH well as long as it works, function > form for me
