Forgot to say,I'm new to the car stereo scene. The last time I did anything with a car sound system was 1985 when I fitted a pioneer system to my old Hilman Hunter (The car was already 18yrs old) and the system consisted of two 30watt amps (1 front and 1 rear),and 4 speakers 30 watts up front and in think 50 watts at the rear.It worked real well. Ive done nothing since then and the systems seem to have changed a fair bit since then, but Im feeling the urge to jump in and get creative again.
im in London UK by the way.

What I drive now.

I drive a Reliant Scimitar Se6a now.Do you remember them?
Oddly enough it continues to attract attention. Google it if it rings no bells.

Ahah! So you checked it out? Yeah it was an obvious choice for me after the Hillman Hunter. The Hunter I had was a station wagon,so I wanted something more classical, and just as practical, as well as of a specific pedigree, and safe.It has a solid steel chassis under the fibreglass body. Its been tested TWICE!!
Ive just got to make it as nice as it was when I bought it 15yrs ago.
Hence the whole hi-fi quest. I think Ive made some headway on that too.

That would be the plan,to sound good.I you tubed a couple of things and peeked into a couple of books, then ordered two of them from Amazon.
I also ear marked some components.
So what system/set up do you have? What are you driving?

Well I currently drive a VW GTI which I might sell soon lol...recently put in som focal components, maybe looking to add a processor, the sub stage is a 12" tc sound epic. For now the sound and volume level is good, not sure what I am going to do next.

HMMMM?? Im afraid you've lost me a little there.I'm taking a pot shot that the 12" sound epic is a Subwoofer. The processor? Is that a computerised component? Sounds wicked whatever it is.Do you have a preference for what you'll buy next if you sell the VW? What year is the VW? I'm currently taking the academic route through things. I'm reading AUTO AUDIO by A Yoder. It's over 300 pages.I also found an old Radio Shack publication I've had for years (MAPLINS if you live in UK or Australia). It's called "Killer car stereo on buget",
it's very informative with a lot of creative Ideas 0n building enclosures etc.The VW I wanted back in the 80's was a Karman Ghia. After that a beetle. The plan was to customise it but as everyone else had the same idea they got REAL expensive and obviously I wasn't that serious about it.

Sorry about that, yes it's the sub woofer. Here is a processor and explaination, will give you some idea JBL MS-8 System Integration Digital Sound Processor

I am thinking about buying an Audi 4, as I am seeing the need for more space.. lol..
The VW is a 2007 model. If you would like I can give you some links to very useful info on car audio, as I can tell you like reading lol... just let me know.
