So what are some of the (exuse the name) Fat wacker DVD players out there that have this feature.( 1080i upconversion) So far I know of the Samsung & LG. have herd great reviews from the Sound obsession Boys on the LG , but what else is out there ? I now eventually everyone will probably have it.

Denon DVD-5900... If you got the cash that is...

High definition, for tv's that are 1080i compatible. My hitachi is HD ready for that, and a couple others i think. I gotta get me one of those dvd players.

Wait for a month or two as there will be a whole bunch of them available for a lot cheaper.
Megehurtz, A normal progressive scan DVD player is capable of a max 480 progressive lines displayed. These DVD players will upconvert to 1080 interlaced lines for display on HDTV's. |
I have JVC progressive Scan and it has 480p 480i, and 1080i I think, but of course damn tv is 27" Sony Vega but no HD :( ... soo I bought this dvd player 1 year ago and was pretty much pointless lol

Wouldnt they need to redo the actual DVD's to play real 1080i?
|
technically yes, cause it was recorded in normal TV mode I guess you could call it, it would be prob more crisp but nothing majorly noticeable, you can download for Windows Media 9 these HIGH DEF 1080 video's/demo's and they look amazing on a normal tv even though it's not HD or actual 1080i... if companies wanted to they could record in higher quality without the need for HD but then they wouldn't be making money if they did that.....
