1993 MR2 Turbo Drifting?

How much modification would one have to do on a 1993 MR2 Turbo for it to be classed as a drift car?

i dont think it is a waste of my resources.
anyone who knows anything about me knows that i dont care what haters say or think, so if im the last guy in the world drifting, ill still keep on drifting and enjoying it.
im not one to go along with the crowd and start hating something just because everyone else hates it. if i enjoy it, screw anyone who tries to tell me its stupid :P

the great part about drifting is watching it go to far and crash
and hopefully you won't hurt anybody

Lightbulb

I would think a mid-engine car is at a disadvantage as a drifter. Don't people try to lighten up the back end?

Plus mid-engine designs are to enhance handling - not make it an oversteering nightmare.

Not trying to discourage you - I would think you want some mega power and skinny rubber to break that *** end free.

hmmm, yea... mid-enigne might not be the best choice, but if the back end broke loose, it'd have the weight behind it....
but then the front end probably wouldnt be good for steering huh.... hmmm, i dunno, i just wanted to know if this car would be good at drifting. if not, ill just keep this car as a driver, then get another car specifically for drifting.

The post is pretty general, but many start with changing the suspension, and focus on keeping the car light. Also, don't waste money on nice tires if all you are going to drift, my friend from Japan who used to drift told me that buying used tires is a much better route.
And in actuality, nothing is going to make your car a drifting car, certain mods will assist in drifting to your full potential. The only thing that will make your car a drifting car is if you use it to drift!

yea, i definately woudnt get nice tires if im going to drift, because thats just a huge waste of money.
i'd probably get 2 sets of tires, one for normal driving, and one for drifting.
so change the suspension and stuff...

Talking

You want to drift, get a 69 charger with 511 gears, 426 hemi, manual trans, and a blower like in the first Fast/furious, then you'll have trouble keeping it straight!

Hahahaha
