Does anyone know if its possible to get older models of alpine decks in stores, or have they all completely switched over to the new style ??

I'm looking in the near future to upgrade decks to be able to use my ipod with the deck (no more cds) I tried the RCA-Headphone wire idea and my deck didn't work with it, it worked in terms of reading that the ipod was there but full volume on the ipod and deck and it was still faint to hear...

Current deck CDA 9827 ... I just want one that'll support the ipod without spending a lot of money AGAIN just to get one thing to work. Any ideas??

My reasoning in asking about the stores, is because I don't like the new style 6 button display they switched to. I like the straight 4 blue buttons ... Simple and easy. But this time around no slot open face for me, I want the tilt features.

Ebay is probably your best bet...or the classifieds here.

 

Haven't seen any here in awhile And I can't stand ebay. I'd rather buy brand new as well. I saw in person one of the newer styles today in a friends car, I suppose they're not that bad, they just don't look so great online ... lol

 

Talk to the installers in your area... if they get someone coming in to upgrade a relatively 'new' Hu, or they have what you are looking, get the installer to make them an offer..

I have a CDA-9831 Damn fine deck!

$200 takes it

 

I caved and I'm now lookin at the CDA-9856 and CDA-9857 lol...

 

Don't, they're terrible compared to the older units, emaning no features whatsoever, or motorized faces and the 9856 has the cheapo style display that only used to be on the lower model decks.
But they are cheap now, you can get a 9857 for 300 new....but like I said...no features...
You get what you pay for.

 

The only other options in those new line of decks I see most of them are dvd, I dont need the dvd option etc lol I just want a deck easily compatible with my ipod that reads on the screen. That also doesn't have the slot face display anymore. They cut out the motorized features???
