am i supposed to return my BC license plates - now that i have AB insurance?

Question

the question is just like it says.

I have an AB license plate, now that i'm insured and registered in AB. Do i have to return the BC plates or...?

Actually you are supposed to return them as they are the property of ICBC and you pay for the right to use them.

Thats what I thought. So you actually did just switch over to AB insurance. New plates are cheap though anyway, like 30$.

yeah thats what i ended up doing...i dunno what the plates themselves were worth...cost me like $100 for registration/plates in AB

Nope, keep the plates. A good keepsake. I kept my MB plates, nailed them up in my garage...
