Am looking for a computer to buy something reasonabley priced
hey yall i used to come on this years ago forgot the site name n finally got it back so im happy i love this site anyways was looking for a computer to buy something cheap but worth buying and in good condition so if anyone has one or can gimme some information email me at lachance_jonathan@hotmail.com or send me a reply or whatnot thanks allot guys and im glad im back here again
IMO I wouldnt buy a cheap computer..just invest more so then that computer will last you longer..then lets say buying some POS computer and then having to buy another one the next year to keep up..you will be happy with somethin faster I know I would be..
Even whats considered a ****ty computer will be more than enough to do simple tasks. Better question is what are you planning to do on the computer? Pretty well any $500 pc from any of the big names is generally gonna last you a long time.
If i was buying a PC, i'd generally try to buy something upgradable (and i did)! Or just buy a pc now and in a couple years sell it and buy another, like most people.

So do my P2 266 laptop and my P3 667 laptop.
Power isn't everything if you just want to surf, check email, and do a little bit of word processing.
i still have my celeron 533 from emachines. it works just fine for its ultimate purpose, surf the web and non graphics based processing.
however, due to lack of hard drive space and the need for some graphics processing for the GF, a Dell 9100 series desktop with dual processors has found its way to my heart. bang for the buck, dell has some pretty good pieces... just make sure you buy the products on special otherwise you end up paying considerably more for the equivalent product.
if you are really on a budget, check out tiger direct or factorydirect.ca for excellent deals (mostly refub stuff with warranty).
btw, there is currently an additional coupon for dell computers for an extra $100 off! its at redflagdeals.com

hey guys i found one for $299 or $309 its an AMD Sempron 2500 with 80 gb hrd 1.44 floppy cd-r onnboard graphic card 32mb onboard soundcard 32mb and 256mb memory what do ya think its brand new to just comes the tower n parts already installed can up grade to a dvd burner for 19 bucks or 512mb for 44 bucks
It all depends on what you plan on doing with the computer. I have a Compaq Presario 6000, its 3 years old now. Works like a charm. I do alot of dvd/cd burning and some media stuff and it works like a charm.
Go for it, sounds like a good deal, can be upgraded if you ever want or need to. Sounds like a good starting platform.
