I am going to stay with my bell plan and am going to sign a two year deal (I am had on Phones). I am not sure wich phone to get. I want a flip phone or small phone that has great reception. I do not need any fancy features like a camera or even colour but that seems to be on every phone.
Also will places through in certain acceroues or in the cell industry is the price the price.
Right now it looks like I will get this phone but open to suggestions

Flip Phone batteries do not last long versus a regular phone. I switched from a Reg phone to a Flip Phone, my reg phone battery would last me a week, the one I got now I have to charge every day. I also suppose it depends on how much you use it. And the longer you stay on the phone the more the bottom piece heats up, so if your on the phone for half hour its almost gonna burn your face and the battery will be in the red by then.
And before you buy any model of phone from any company or what not, do the research on it look for reviews and see if the phone's any good. Because the company may say oh its a great phone! Of course they have to lol But there are bad reviews and good reviews and my dad regrets taking that advice because his BRAND NEW phone is PURE CRAP lol
Bell's billing is how should i put it... you'll get one bill and like a week later get another one, they're billing period is so screwed up.
Rogers rips people off and over charges and their website half the time doesn't work or is extremely slow. (goes for a convenience of having online billing its more of an inconvenience)
Telus apparently aren't that great either but I've never personally had any experience with them, my mom has a phone with them thats Pay As You Go, so you can't complain about one of those, one of my friends has a pay plan flip phone from them and they're opinion on Telus is iffy.
My two cents

^ agreed - stay away from flip style. I believe Nokia phones have the best build quality. And you definitely are using the right carrier - for a few reasons - coverage - signal strength and non irregularities in billing ( a la Rogers )

I currently ave a flip phone and have talked on it for well over an hour, no problems. My battery lasted like 4 days when i got it. weather the phone flips or not has nothing to do with battery life. The battery life has to do with the power consumption of the phone and the battery.
As I stated above I will be staying with bell, yes right now there billing is ****ed bt they are starting to get it back on track.
I am obviuosly going to do research. I am looking for someone who knows somthing about cell phones and can point me in a specific direction. Prefeably (SP?) towards a specific phone or chipset.

I have never seem any empirical evidence of this. I would imagine the actual phone and its specifications would have a significant impact on the battery life.

Your welcome to come to Ontario and see for yourself, my battery and my friend who has the Telus flip phone, both our batteries heat up after about half an hour of talk. and both the batteries are almost dead by the end of an hour talking. So maybe its just our models mines an Audiovox 8600 bought brand new.
