how do i shut this off or configure or disable this?

Get this after receiving an mp3 type file in MSN (just got it for the first time this morning). The help link within the file leads to a dead end. Not much of the internet seems to know about it...any ideas?

the firewall is off! which has made me never look at it...running a router, but i'll doublecheck again to see if msn is even listed and verify that it's on.

Hmm i'm kinda retared....i dunno whether the checkmark's mean something is on or off in the exception list, it was checkmarked...i've unchecked it and as soon as i find someone i'll test it again.

edit** no work

It's really hard to concentrate on that error message for some reason.

Ummm, yeah MS doesn't like people sending mp3's via messenger, and it depends on how updated your system is. So this is MS's way to keep people from doing that. Try having the person sending the .mp3 rename the file extention to something other than .mp3.

hmm i haven't tried not clicking on the link, but it seems as soon as i do, the file disappears. I have yet to find out where it puts it. It moves it, but it's as if it deletes it, cause even searching hidden files n folders i can't find them.

I'm sure doing what you said will work MegaHurtz, just wondering why it's mysteriously blocked. Wonder if it was a new windows update.

I usually had that error when it came to them sending me a file It would say msn has blocked this file as it could be potentially harmful. Never found a solution so I have ppl send files to my gmail box instead.
