It seems that no matter when you pick up the phone to call a friend or a company, you end up dealing with some sort of automated service. What do you think of having to push buttons? Do you feel that type of service is helpful or not?
Do you have such a service for your business ? If so, have you had any feedback about it, positive, negative?
I seem to recall a post where someone put on an old joke about some lady writing her financial institution about this issue.

I can live with it SOMETIMES..................I get pissed though when there is no option for a operator....................it's kinda like eBay, you can't just email someone...............

I cannot stand dealing with Telus over the phone. They have got to have one of the worst automated systems. It makes you talk with some stupis computer and you tell it your problems. Makes me so mad.

Another was Captial One M/C. They have an automated collections call. Your phone rings:
Me: "Hello?"
Some computer that sounds like Kit from Knight Rider: "Hello. This is capital cone master card. Is this _________.?" If yes pres 1.

And then it proceeds to tell you about your card situation. No human ever gets on the phone. Truley sucks.

I find it impersonal... Thats just me... Unless its giving you specials for something I can't stand it.

I dont mind hitting buttons... but the services where you have to say 'yes' or 'no' to questions are a total pain in the ass...

Iam also not a fan of talking to people who are of some other nationality and have a heavy accent I cant understand.... happens to me all the time....

How many of you mention your credit card info on a portable, or cellular phone, thinking no one is listening?
Ever wonder why credit card companies forgot about that minor security precaution when they prompt you to press your numbers as you use a cordless phone???

I just press 0 and goto the operator. I HATE those automated things.

When you used to have to call Clifford Canada, the recording would come on......"Bonjour Clifford Canada.........................press 8 for english"

In a heavy french accent...................8 for English ???

Man...................
