Anybody know how to get them out? I tried a degreaser (Castrol SuperClean) and did nothing (duh, it's not grease). Tried Lime Away and it made it worse What works?

get the cement wet and brush some dirt into it and blend with the rest of the floor..
(if its a smooth finish you are probably sol)

you could try using a basic solution to reverse the effects of the acid while washing away the salts left behind, but you are probably sol there too unless you really devoted yourself to it...

Seems to me a stain like that outside can be washed away by rain in 5-10 years or so

Well it's a smooth floor in a parkade so no dependance on rain. DOH! I did a bit of searching and it sounds like muriatic (hydrochloric) acid is about the only thing to do. Has to be heavily diluted and flushed very very well.

Anyone else?

I dont know about the hydrochloric... I would go with baking soda with a little then a lot of water.

The cement is quite basic, so the acid has probably been neutralized already... you could always scrape off the cement and put a little patch on it

Hauntz is on to something spill old scanky motor oil on it and blame someone else.

Yeah Dukk suggested baking soda too. I'll give that a go. If no good, then I'm going for the muriatic acid.

I think the crotchety strata president would have an issue of me chipping up the floor

Good replies though guys! Keep them coming!

Haha, the Pilsbury tire bake off will take care of it, good suggestion. Time for new tires yet?

Hmmm interesting. That I believe is acetic acid in vinegar. Worth a try though.
