just wondering what jobs and apartments are like in BC. My Best friend from Ontario is moving out there in November to be with his mom and i just wondering what he getting in to out there. Examples jobs in Ontario and not that great where we live and apartments are like 850 for a 2 bedroom. thank for the info

rooms are anywhere from $800- $1700 depends on the area you want to be in =] it rains here but it's not as cold as Ontario

Depends on what you want to do. There are jobs everywhere here in town if you are wanting to do construction or even menial McDonalds type work. Housing though is another issue, there are not many places to rent here. I am on the island.

I don't know so much about jobs, but it sounds like apartments here on par with what they are out there. I'm living in a big 2 bedroom suite right now and we are paying $850 including utils. I've looked around a lot at other places and our rent is about on par. I am not living in downtown though, I am about 30 mins east of Vancouver. Rent in Vancouver is quite a bit more.

There was an article in the paper recently though about all the help wanted ads that were posted in the windows of downtown businesses. Granted, it sounded like the majority of there were more low paying jobs, but depending on the industry he is in and his experience, he should do fine.
