I like buying cheap w/no warranty... then if something is wrong, I'll fix it for myself....

But in your scenario the first thing I'd want is my $40 and $60 back... they troubleshot and diognosed 2 problems that obviously didnt exist...

Next, I would give them back the computer and have em send it away... tape a letter on the front explaining exactly what the problem is...

Now, these ****ers arn't going to want to give you your $100 so you may have to be pretty adimate about it... threaten to call district managers, ect.. bitch about the guy telling you there is no phone at the repair center and say they've all been very deceptive and uncooperative... ect...

There is also the better buisness burrow...

After you get the computer and it works... wait till the warrantee is almost over and stick a fork in the friggn powersupply....

Go back and bitch somemore and get a new computer...

Final advice is to definatly not go into the store 1/2 ****ed... it prolly won't get you very far... bitching is for bitches... men take care of buisiness...

If it's name brand techically the store can blow ya off and stay call the "Brand Name". If it is bran name give it about 3-4 service of sendingi t back and forth then request Case/Quality Manager eventually they will offer something wether it be upgrade or buy back. Now have you tried just formatting your pc before send it back? cause you might just have a ****ed up windows.

^^^ The computer has been restored. Unless I have a buggy copy of XP. I am not sure how to determine this though...

Sux Joe really it sux. Thats why its better to either know someone with their own business or know how to build them urself, then u just buy the parts n build it urself and only worry about Part warranties and not the whole system when u deal with people like Future Shop & Best Buy.

With the rate computers are improving you can always get a better computer somewhere else. What really matters is the after sale service.
I would almost agree except for the fact that I've seen too many of these open one day and gone the next. </font>[/QUOTE]Thats the caveat.
Look for a well established, decent shop with good customer service...and even then you could still end up with a lemon!

Yeah and if I do that... knowing my luck. Different parts would be crapping out on me and I'd be waiting weeks on end to have new ones sent to me. Which is kind of why I bought from Best Buy. I mean any time I have any type of problem with anything that I have bought there, they hand me a new one and take mine. But, for some reason they insist on dicking around with conmputers until no end... By the time I get it back functioning it'll be outdated and worthless...

I bring it back to Best Buy, they say that a system restore will surely do the trick.

System restore isn't the same as a format.
