I'm sick of hearing people saying that it is ok just because it was during a hockey game. I can be walking down the street, someone make fun of my girl or say something to her, my emotions will flare. Does that make it legal to sneak up from behind and blind side him then ride him to the ground? The hockey rink should not be exempt from the law, nor should the atheletes whom play professionally be allowed to carry out these assaults. I know how emotions flare as I ref JR hockey on vancouver island. Stuff like this is not tollerated in JR hockey so I don't see why it should be up in those levels. Anyone who says it should, may as well have their head up their ass for the rest of their lives.

I think regular season would have been enough. Perhaps if the refs had even given Moore a simple minor penalty for the hit on Naslund this never would have happened. Yes Bert took a cheap shot and he lost his temper, sad this had to happen.

you get a penalty for a penalty, not for naslund reaching to play the puck with his head down and he got hit. If it was so cheap, the NHL would have suspended Moore, penalty or not. It's happened before. DO NOT blame this on the refs.

fazes anyone that plays hockey knows that there is a risk of injury when you play the game...Im surprised that you dont realize that if you are a ref on almost any level...some are preventable yes, and sometimes people get hurt on account of cheap shots and everything else that happens in hockey...if you lace up those skates as a player, its almost an acknowledgement of the risks that you are about to undergo for the next 60 minutes of playtime...if you dont think that, maybe the placement of your head in your ass has finally exhausted the oxygen in there and your brain is malfunctioning...

wake up, we do not live in a perfect world, nor will we ever...moore isnt the most upstanding player on the ice either, so maybe you could look at it as karma coming back in a big way...I never said what bertuzzi did was right, Im just saying that cheap shots happen in hockey, and this one just had some pretty serious results...

No I don't mean in anyway to blame this on the refs, just commenting if they would have made the call (right or wrong, and god knows they make enough wrong ones), this would have been avoided. However, I feel the hit on Naslund was unnecessary and not the 'cleanest' of hits. Its water under the bridge now, and a learning experience for the NHL.

your post answers none of the problems that have been presented. Players lace up their skates knowing that they're taking risks, but part of the risk should not be getting blindsided by some neanderthal out for revenge. That's not a risk, it's ridiculous. So if you say that, I feel sorry for you and your mindset.

Ive been playing and watching hockey since I was 6 years old. You sign the waivers, and in guyz hockey its A LOT worse for cheap shots n crap u see A LOT of it where I come from. I went to a friends rep game and he was on for his shift and some guy got knocked down and bitched at the ref becuz he wouldn't call anything and my friend skated by him AFTER the play was over not even lookin at the guy cuz he had NOTHING to do with that guy and the guy just smashed him in the back of the legz for no reason. Buddy fell down then the guy that hit him skated to his bench to get off, of course my friend got up and skated after him and started a HUGE bench brawl lol They were BOTH kicked outta the game. But look at that totally uncalled for cheapshot that meant nothing. Even us women do it, if ur a gurl playin hockey ur gonna not wanna play the butch gurl teamz cuz not only do they run their mouth ( and we all know how women run their mouthez ) they cheap shot and hit like crazy. I just love the time someone cheap shotted me when I was already upset, she wanted to fight she got it and she lost HORRIBLY and even tried to back out 80% of the ass kicking lol The rest of the tournament all over the arena I heard my name and number a lot that weekend and I did nothin but laugh my ass off [img]graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] Overall point Hockey is a ROUGH sport it is ALWAYZ going to be, and some ppl are jackasses there will alwayz be the stupid little cheap shots no matter what. VIOLENCE SELLS therez another point. Its like saying Rugby or Football shouldn't be so rough, its part of the game lol. But yes what he did is not part of the game but dude it happens its always gonna happen cuz therez alwayz gonna be the odd jerk out there that takez things to seriously. u get heated on the ice its all in ur blood and attitude. IMO when a team is losing they alwayz start playing rougher. I witnessed it growing up playing.
