i love my e-brake...so much fun on these cold yet fun winter days :D

Don't get too friendly with it now...I snapped my ebrake cable last year doing the same thing, and so did my brother! And I never bothered getting it fixed so I have to shut off the car every time I run in to get the mail or something or my car rolls away

:D Just carry a brick with you everywhere and chuck the wheel every-time you stop.

quadzed 11-08-2003 07:59 PM

nah, the brick is to keep my subwoofer box from sliding around :D

im not to worried about the cable snapping...ive got extra parts for the car and i have an extra cable for sure....as for the work to put it in ill let my dad do it...hehe.....i also used a brick in my install for a bit to tilt my amp rack :D

You don't have to yank on the e-brake hard to lock your wheels when its icey and snow out. More so for you since you live in Winterpeg

juniorsfse 11-10-2003 02:13 AM

just giving it a light tug and away goes the ass end :D

Try not letting the ass end go out all the way. Tap on it lightly while turning and do power-slides in the corners :D It gives ya a nice little Weee, while feeling the control of the car on ice.

Doing it when going from your street to your driveway is fun. I have a circle driveway, and its on the corner of the street. I powerslide through the corner and by the time I come to my Driveway 2nd entrance I'm facing straight and just drive right up the driveway :D

I finally get to use mine again. My big, e-brake blocking pods are gone for good!

Canadian Mofo 11-11-2003 11:24 AM

I like to power slide into my driveway. It gives the neighbours something to watch.

Its easy going straight into the driveway from the street. Just slide 90 degrees and straight in.

Or do it in reverse and slide the back end out till its lined up with the driveway and back in.

Alternately its nice to do that reverse slide into a parking spot at work. Looks cool as hell when you nail it just right and don't rotate to far and have to make unsightly corrections as you back up into the space. Its definately something that needs to get practiced after work when nobody is in the parking lot.

I wish my e-brake wasn't a footpedal. :(

And that my car is standard, I have to have it. :D

But, uh, yeah non working e-brakes are illegal. Get them fixed already.

I love my e-brake on my Golf :D that thing does donuts like theres no tomorrow on the ice..... in my old '82 Tercel I managed to pop it up on 2 wheels in my old high schools feild using the e-brake

Mr. Marco 11-11-2003 10:07 PM

E-Brakes?!?

Winter?!?!?

you guys wait all year round for that?!?!
i guess i should feel priviledged to get to do it any time with a tap of the gas... when its wet its even more fun!!

e-brake is a GM small-car thing. They're great.

Go nuts with it, it won't break, newish GMs have good e-brakes. Even my '89 Corsica that I didn't take care of worth peanuts ... the e-brake worked infalliably, I bet EASILY thru 300 cycles ... probably a lot more because of parking lots and snow

WRC Great video. Love the dude wrenching on the steering wheel while they are still racing, too....

mudmojo 11-12-2003 11:26 PM

I prefer initiating tight doughnuts with power and weight transfer instead of the e-brake! ;)

quadzed 11-13-2003 07:51 AM

talking about winter, I wake up and I see this

EEEEWWWW

Chadxton 11-13-2003 08:44 AM

I have to agree with Mr. Marco. More fun anytime of the year just to rip it up on the throttle. Then again, not everyone can do second gear burnouts on dry pavement. Marco also has an extra 100 or so hp at the wheels and one more turbo than me. And he's RWD. LOL

Drysuit John 11-13-2003 07:04 PM

NASCAR IS KEWL :D .......but

WRC RULES !!!!
