Liberal plan to "ban" handguns

First off, whoever wrote the article seems to know very little about our current gun control system. They say:
In fact, some handguns are prohibited while some handguns are restricted.

Then they go on to say about the proposed bill:

All it sounds like to me is that they would eliminate the collectors provision, probably making a whole raft of guns not practical for target competition prohibited.

Anyways, they disgust me. They have acknowledged that the vast majority of gun crimes are committed with unlicensed illegal firearms, so their solution to crime is to take away the legal ones that aren't a problem?

They've said for years that the registration program isn't about confiscation, but now they've shown that it really is. I want to live in a FREE country where my rights aren't taken away arbitrarily. What's next, a sharp and blunt objects registry?

well you better prepare for another Liberal Gov This appeals to the Liberal tree huggers in Ontario.

 

While it is true that a small percentage of firearms used to commit crime are stolen from collectors they would get far better results by putting the money into beefing up border security.

 

And hiring people like me as police officers to follow around all the people who continually break the laws because they don't agree with them.

 

ALL GUNS SHOULD BE BANNED..... ESPECIALLY HANDGUNS!!! GUN CONTROL WORKS AND ITS FOR THE GOOD OF THE COUNTRY...

The Liberals know they aren't going to get a whole lot of votes from the gun-owning community, so taking a firmer stance on guns will probably earn them more votes from those who are against guns.

There's an election coming up; it's all politics ... Knowing the Liberals, they probably won't even go through with it ...

 

I don't know why you'd say that. I wouldn't be surprised to see another liberal minority govt
