hey thinkin about gettin my dad a plain paper fax for christmas - hes got an old thermal paper one thats kinda on deaths door

any recomendations for a good one (nothing fancy) plain paper fax ?

also how much ink/toner do these use ?

i've had a toshiba and a hp
the toshiba lasted 15 years
the hp i have replaced one after 1 year of use

That's the one I have. Toner isn't too bad - I've never kept track of pages, but they're only about $15 I think for replacements.

I haven't had any complaints - other than having it stolen when my house was broken into. The old and new one have both worked great.

we've got an hp officejet k60 all-in-one at work

works great, no need for the computer to be on for faxing and you get a printer, scanner and photocopier too
