That's just down right horrific. I was in kamloops when the town of barrier was evacuated. A friend and I went to the river where there was a kive band. The ppl who were evacuated were there with there families. It broke my heart that even though most of them would have nothing to go back to they still managed to put a smile on there face . Anyways my heart goes out to all those families and i hope things will wind down. take care everyone

Well, i live in Vernon, and the last few days i cant see the hills that are 2km away, kelowna is 3x's that bad. The fires around Vernon have bene caused by careless errors and stupid choices... throwing out a cigarette butt into the dead, super dry grass... then a firefighter did the same and started another one. Im not sure how the Kelowna fires have originated, but the city was pretty much shut down lastnight.... not sure how the situation is now, but many homes are being used and kindling.
If you have relatives there, you might want to call.... but htey are trying to keep the phone use down to a minimum, many people have resulted to turning off cell phones, etc.
