I love diesel [img]smile.gif[/img]
my truck's getting a miserly (for a big assed 4x4) 21 mpg cruising at 115-120 ......gets 24mpg at 95-100 but who can go that slow ......
the 1.8t gets 38mpg @ 110.....of course my mom's and buddies TDI's slaughter it [img]smile.gif[/img]

^^^WTF-My 05 Cummins gets 13-14 MPG, the best I have seen it is about 17MPG on the highway, but I have only seen it that low once. Are the newer ones fuel pigs?? Was kinda disapointed because I have heard the Duramax's can get upwards of 26MPG...

your cummins is too new yet .they don't start getting decent milage till at least 40,000km (they got to break in) then they get even better after 100,000km .....I'm at 220,000km now and she's runniong better than ever, also speed makes a big diff on a diesel the faster you go the worse it gets and around town is of course worse I only get 18 around town
as for the jetta it's geared low I'm at 3000 rpm doing 110 in 5th, makes it peppy though, the tdi's are geared way higher( I need to do an 02m 6speed swap)
