GMC Canyon/Chevy Colorado
hey all. just currious what peoples opinions or experience with these trucks are. i'm looking at getting a crew cab canyon and just wanted to hear some stuff from you guys. so let'er rip and well stuff like that. like reliabilty, gas milgeage stuff like that. thanks guys.
Well, it's a Chevy, and I'm a Chevy man, so I think they're yummy...
There's a house that I drive by when I leave everyday, it has a nice shiny new Colorado sittin' out front, bright yellow, very sexy lookin' truck.
Although I have yet to see one up close, I've heard lots about this new 5 cyl. Vortec they have. The engine is being used in lots of applications, Hummer is even making an "H3" using this engine. I'm sure it'll be pretty rock-solid, my '95 4.3 Vortec V6 has 380,000km's and still runs tickety-boo, doesn't burn a drop of oil or anything...
BUT, it is a new model (the whole truck, not just the engine) with no proven reliability backing it. So it could go either way, rock-solid like I expect, or who knows? There's a problem with '03 Luminas (I thin kit was the '03's... a late-model anyway...) throwing an internal engine bearing... Usually breaking and needing motor replacement before ya even hit 75,000km's... nasty. Dunno if they even recalled them or not...

go for a white one thier easyier to clean.
my lumina is so easy to make clean (it's white) and it does not leave any streake's if you do a bad job. i have ridden in one a couple time's. very nice interior. i can't quite remeber, but i think the front seating area had lot's of leg room. it's been a couple month's since i have been in one.

Personally I would be looking for a leftover 04 Dakota club cab but the Canyon is an attractive truck.
It's a GM though - and my past with GM makes me shudder at the thought of owning one
If you are dedicated to your paint and have no life then black is hot - otherwise I suggest a metallic grey or just about any other color. Plus it rains so much here that black is tough to keep really clean.

yeah i have been debating the really dark grey. i think i am going to go for the canyon. my sunfire isnt happy. and dakotas are nice but too hard on gas and i am scared of them after the last 04 i worked on. if i didnt change my phone number when i moved it probably would still be haunting me. plus i found out my dad gets a deadly discount on gm products as an exec at his company so i might be able to get a wicked deal on a canyon. so i guess i'll find out next time i am up in the loops.
