hey, i want to buy a car really soon but i dont know what type to get ! I want a hatchback preferably becuase i want a car good on gas. I was lookin at a Ford Aspire but i cant find dick all about modding the engine. seeing as though its going to be small i want to boost the hp a bit. Do any of you know what kinda car i could pick up for under 4 or jes a little over 4 grand ? i wanted to keep it within the 90's at least.

uh i'll say corollas too, they aren't hatchbacks but they are good on gas, I can vouch for that.

I think that they might have miss placed the decimal. But check it out. If not that's one heck of a deal!

Misplaced the comma and left out a zero.

Economic car + Many engine mods = uneconomic car
..well, for the most part.

Look for a mid-80's turbo dodge well, that's not for everyone either.
Pick up a copy of Lemon-Aid or used car guide and do yourself some research.
A Corrado VR6 wouldn't be a bad choice IMO, but it's beyond your price range.
Cavalier maybe? A budget of 4k doesn't allow for much taste for 90's cars. Might want to get a mid/late 80's Honda (dare I say).
Hey, Toyota Cressida's are pimpin'!

I'll have to add Omni's, too. Cheap and good on gas. 2.2L engines last a good 250,000k.
Looks? Well, for a grand who cares? I love these bricks.

I think if you want to spend around 4G on a car but you still have money left over (or will soon) to boost HP or purchase body kits, why not just put all the money into a reliable and already quick car. Wait for a good deal on a early 90's Civic Si, Prelude, Integra, etc. with low mileage. Then you have something that is fun to drive and reliable and you won't have to spend money on it to modify it. I would rather have a factory, reliable, low mileage car that is fun to drive than put a bunch of money into something that is old and high mileage with a body kit....
