Well.... remote admin gives you access to what ever is on that specific computer on the network. I would use only one computer for this "file sharing" and turn remote admin off for the rest. Then you should only be able to remotely access the one with the info you want on it.

That computer you are remotely accessing will have to be on and noone will be able to use it while you are on it.

Remote assistant is the program that techs use to link from their computer to yours to view and repair problems. You basically take it over from a remote source. Every computer running XP, Vista possibly others have this feature. Many people turn it off so they close that access point from hackers.

Go to START, Connect to, show all connections, under network tasks, select create a new connection, follow the steps to connect to a computer. Your firewall should keep you safely inside your network.

My bad, I think remote desktop would be your best bet. Here is the Windows ""

"Differentiating between Remote Desktop and Remote AssistanceRemote Desktop and Remote Assistance use the same underlying technology, but there are differences between these features.

Remote Desktop allows you to have access to a Windows session that is running on your computer when you are at another computer. For example, you can use Remote Desktop to connect to your work computer from home and have access to all of your programs, files, and network resources, as though you were sitting in front of your computer at work.

Remote Assistance allows a helper—a friend, for example—to use an Internet connection to access your computer to provide assistance. The helper can see your computer screen and communicate through a chat box. If you give permission, the helper can remotely control your computer to resolve a problem."
