Home theatre speakers

My car system just got stolen and I've decided to downgrade my next system and focus more on my home theater setup. What I'm looking for is a nice set of bookself speakers for my front channels. They will be run off of a reciever(haven't decided on one yet but it will most likely put out around a 100 watts). My budget for these speakers is anywhere from $250-$400. I've looked into some Polk Audio and Infinity speakers from Future Shop but I'm not sure thats the route to go. I've also though about getting a kit from Solen but i don't really have the time to build the cabinets and I moved away from home and don't have access to all of my dad's tools. I'm planning on adding a subwoofer eventually but I'd like the speakers to be able to play down to 50-60hz at reference levels. So does anyone have any suggestions or a used set they might want to part with?

In your price range, I suggest Paradigm Mini Monitors.

x3 on the Paradigms - Just don't expect reference level below 80Hz in your price range.

Better look for some bins with 10s minimum instead of wimpy bookshelves....

Well I was planning one building a sub to go with the setup but I'm not sure how high it will play. I was thinking of tunning the box around 20hz. I guess they don't have to be bookself speakers i wouldn't mind some floor speakers either but I couldn't find anything I liked in my price range. As for the Paradigm's I'll try to see if I can audition them(I think there's a dealer in town). How much do the mini monitors usually run for?

Not sure on the current pricing on the MiniMonitors.....guessing $300-$350/pair street. This pricing is probably several years old though.

PSB Image series should also be looked at. Not sure what Energy speakers are currently available. Paradigm, PSB and Energy are all Canadian brands....some have most of the speaker components made out of the country nowadays.
