how many songs can you fit on a 128MB mp3 player? 256? i used to have one a while back, it was like 32 megs and i could only get like 5 songs on it. can you fit a ton more on them now?

It depends on how they are encoded. With the likes of OGG and MP3Pro you can get higher quality songs in a lot less space.

Assuming you use normal mp3's and if they are encoded at the universal 128kbps. You could probably fit 20-30 on a 128MB player. Depending how long the songs are. And 40 or so on a 256MB player. Once again depending on the length of the songs.

I just got a rio chiba with 128 internal and 1gig sd card. On the internal I have 18 songs some are 192 others are 128 - and the memory is not quite full. On the 1 gig card there are 115 songs all at 192 or better and I still have room for another 20-30 songs.

Depends on the encoding, size of the mp3 etc

on average I get about 100 songs of various bitrates (192 and up)on a 650 mb cdr

so with that ratio you'd get about 20 songs on a 128mb card
