I finally got around to taking the emblems off my vehicle this weekend. So I thought I'd post a few pics. What do you think? Better with them on there or without? I kind of like the clean, plain look better then having them all on there.

Wish there was a way to remove the front 'GMC' emblem off my trucks grill but back in 2000 or somewhere thereabouts they made it one piece with the grill so unless you replace the entire grill you can't remove it (as far as I know).
And yes It looks much nicer with them removed. |
Did you use a rubber wheel to take the glue and crap off?

Hair dryer to heat up the letters and goo. Then fishing wire behind the letters to slice through it and slide the letters off. Then I used a lethal combination of Bug & Tar remover + Goo Gone.
That combined with some severe elbow grease had these things off in no time. I'd say all the time combined together it took maybe an hour and a half or so to get the letters off and get all the gunk off. |
You didn't do it justice by making the different pictures.

Try an auto body supply shop next time, a rubber wheel is about $5cnd put it in a drill and it just tears the glue and junk off, works like a charm BUT you can burn right through the paint if your not careful....and abit of thinner will take the glue off pretty easy to and wont harm your paint job.
