My roommate offered me a P3 1ghz laptop for $250... not sure the ram but its 'not enough' (so I figure 32mb) Hard drive is probably 10gig or something...

He bought it as is for $100 and I helped him get it going... I guess it crashed a few times so he put in a new hard drive and it works good now.... hes selling because he wants some extra beer money, or something..

Ill assume more ram will cost, and I wouldnt be surprised if Id need a new sound card since I need one that is full duplex.

Well, too good a deal to pass up or what ?
would $200 be a low ball offer ?

If it is a P3, 1 gig....about 256mb of ram would have been standard.

My Compaq is a P3 1 gig and it came with 512 mb.

As far as hard drive, I would suspect a 20 or 30 gig, once again, my P3 1 gig came with a 30 gig harddrive (since upgraded)

You should be able to turn the thing on and under properties find the answers to your questions.

Let me know if you do not buy it....I need another laptop for a wireless music server in my place.

Thanks

Kevin

As loudtdi said, there is no WAY that system has 32MB of RAM.

With a 1GHz proc. you're probably looking at a minimum of 128, but probably 256.

right you are.. (this is my first laptop so Iam kind of clueless)..

128meg ram, 30gig drive, wireless network card, DVD rom, and a few other goodies...

Gave him $220 for it this morning... Iam a happy camper for that price...
