To clean the throttle I suggest 25litres of gasoline applied liberally to the exterior and interior. Apply a flame to remove any excess. Stand back and enjoy the glow, you are free of your late model GM car. :smokin:

is the mil light on ? ( malfunction indicator light ) if not then i would agree its a vacume leak if you can get your hands on a shop grade scan tool that can controll the actuators and give you a reaing on wat each sensor is doing then your going to have a much better idae on what is going on. this could also be a compund problem, usually a vacume leak wont make a engine idile that high, so the other two things i would look at are the idile air control valve, or the map sensor may be a mass airflow sensor i cant remember..... and im being too lazy too look it up on all data. another thing is if the throtle plate isint moving back all the way and its stuck open a bit, so take the intake pipe off and work the plate and make sure its clean and free from any obstructions. and use some throttle body cleaner while your at it.
good luck and have fun !

A 40yr old car isn't exactly a late model. Thanks for playing though...
