Anybody got any ideas on this one?

Installed a Chaintech AV-710, and connected up to me home receiver, only to find out none of the volume controls do anything anymore, including the volume inside the software that came with the card.

Anyone got any ideas on this?

hmm k, well turns out it's the optical that causes that, no probs, just a property of the optical cables

The optical cable or the optical connection?

Chances are it just sends a line-level signal to your reciever. Therefore you just use the recievers volume control.

Whne ur in "digital" the card just sends the signal kinda like a dvd player... you have to use the receiver to use the volume....now if ur passing just a lpcm signal then u can use ur volume control and stuff..
