haha, I know what that's from!

Kris Dancey 05-29-2004 09:47 PM

What do you use to catch them? Have wanted to go Sturgen fishing for a while now...

Bulldogger 05-30-2004 07:42 AM

Salted minnows man

We use saltwater rods & reels with atleast 25lbs test. Alot of people use that braided shiat, but I prefer mono. I use Berkley big-game.

We also make our own pickerel rigs.

If you want to catch the big ones you need to scrape a dead cat off the highway.

Bulldogger 05-30-2004 09:12 PM

LOL

DANGA-BASS 05-31-2004 07:18 AM

Damn Sturgeon. Bob and I go and try to catch them bastards for 15 hours and nothing. Mike you better take us seeing as you are the master sturgeon catcher.

Bulldogger 05-31-2004 07:58 AM

I don't know if i can help any, u2 must just have bad luck with the sturg. You better stick to your walleye.... ;)

I'm sure u2 are going to the right spot, because we saw where Bob was burning mdf in the fire. We just put our lines in @ the other end of the beach(south end), but i've seen them caught up annd down the beach when their biting. (south end is generally better)

Did anyone else get any, was there alot of people down there, and were they rising at all? Call me before you leave next time!!! U2 are fisherman, u will get a sturgeon, it's just a matter of time.......

DANGA-BASS 05-31-2004 08:34 AM

There was a guy that pulled out a 15 pounder so we saw one, but that is about it. There was only about 3 groups till 10 and then me a bob were there by ourselves from 10 pm till 6 am. Bob and I were the only ones there to catch anything besides the one sturgeon caught.

Bulldogger 05-31-2004 09:02 AM

Hmmmmmm

Must just be bad timing.

Don't give up(atleast until you both get one, and hopefully in the bigger range). When they start biting, THEY START BITING. It get's crazy, i've seen 10+ caught on that beach within a few hours(double and triple headers...totaling over 100lbs). Damn it! I wish u2 would have gotten a few. I've only caught 5 so far this year ranging from 20-40lbs. Dale has caught 3. They start biting better @ the end of june....beginning of july.

Atleast it's really nice down there, when it's nice out.

I feel bad u2 haven't got one yet, after Dale & I have been bragging it up for the last couple years. If you come down with us and i get one on my rod, i'll glady hand it to one of you. Don't give up......
