laptop trouble...

hey guys..well i have an old IBM thinkpad T23..i actually love it though..lol..anyways..one day it just refused to start...something was trying to start up but couldn't quite start..like a harddrive almost..but it wasn't the harddrive..it was coming from the area where the fan was but the fan was working..i stuck my finger in by mistake..lol..anyways..i'm thinking that its something on my motherboard...i figured that i can get a new board..but the problem is i need someone to replace it for me...because i'm not good with these things..i know there are companies out there that do this stuff but they're gonna wanna charge me $100 just to check it out..and then i'm gonna have to pay more to get it fixed...does anyone know anyone who does this stuff cheap like anywhere in Toronto or can anyone of you guys help me out...?

With how cheap laptops are becoming these days and if yours is a little older like you said you'd probably just be better off getting a new one. Dell offers them for like 500-600 bucks and it will be way better than the one you have. Not to mention getting that one fixed anywhere will probably cost you a pretty penny that you may as well put toward to getting something newer.

if you know its the motherboard you could find one just like it.it should be a strait swap.take the old one put the now one in and it will work, should be really easy to do.but i would take it to a computer place and have them check it out.
