Made in China or Mexico.

Does anyone here refuse to buy products made in China or Mexico ?
I dont care how attractive the price is any longer, the quality is sub par !
I'm not supporting these companies that venture out there and give them jobs, while the USA & Canada have unemployment numbers near 10% !

Nothing (electronic wise) I own was assembled in China or Mexico.
All Japan, USA, or Europe.

Heck Im wearing a t-shirt made in Nicaragua.

What are you thought on this issue.

Depends what I'm doing with the product.

The parts that go in to the products you use.... they come from China...

The PC you're reading this thread from. China.....

It's inevitable... but nice try.

i think its all horse . if i need to product i will buy it. that's all it comes down too. u can not hide from it. Like jordy said. no matter what electronics you by china is somewhere inside it. it may be built in Canada or the states but where do all the parts come from. Lots of company's say designed in eh U.S.A just they didn't have the time to built it there too.

if i have the choice, 100% built in Canada / USA.

however, thats not always the case.

(and even though parts may be manufactured in china, just having it assembled in Canada/ USA at least brings some jobs here)

I would love to buy everything from the US but that would mean spending 5x as much due to wage differences.

Ya but you will have a steady job and more income, since others will be in teh same boat..
so all in all it will be the same, if not a better economy for us.

The only difference would be cost to consumers.

The problem isn't the companies making the products, its the labourers and the consumers. Consumers want bottom dollar, and for some reason, us North Americans feel that we deserve more money (wages) per head than the people who are now making most of the things we use/play with daily. This kind of mentality has driven prices up for nearly everything and as a result we have put ourselves in a position where the cost of the production of the products we want/need is the only area we can cut costs to achieve the common goal. Hence why countries that have "lower standards" get the production work... They have no issue working for $5 a day because their focus is elsewhere, and it feeds the family. Obviously it's working considering China's population.

Even some products that say made in the US or Canada.... it's a narrow street what defines "made" or "assembled". Often it's just putting a sticker or a zipper or simply a fraud.
