Montana legal drinking age.

Me and a buddy were gonna go down to montana (from alberta) and get a giant batch of alcohol (which is extremely cheap). Then we realized that the legal drinking age in the USA is 21, and we wouldn't be able to get any. Then just tonight it was told to me that the legal age in montana is 18, and it would have been ok.
Which is it?

If you have been down in the US for under 24 hours you have no alcohol exemptions. You will pay tax on all that you bring across. As far as how much one person can have, you really won't reach your limit, unless you are bringing over 40 bottles back each. And even then most Customs officers will turn a blind eye and just charge you taxes on the amount you are carrying.
Taxes percentages range from 11 - 27 percent, plus there are other taxes as well. You will still save money, but it will only be a couple of bucks per bottle, unless you buy the really cheap stuff such as red label vodka, then you will likely save close to 10 bucks a bottle. It is a deal, you just have to know what you are doing first before you go and do it.

What part of Montana?
Been to Kalispell and Ronan. Ronan is excellent. Very small place and the booze is cheap. Look for Walter, he hangs out out Lloyds bar and grill. He just loves Canadians for some reason?
Always buys ya a beer or 7 or 8.
