Is my motherboard dead.

I have an EMachines T3104 ps I got as a X-mas gift back in december. Has worked fine until ab hour ago. I turn on the pc, the hard drive light remains on and I get no sort of signal out of either the monitor, mouse, or keyboard.

I went through all the steps with the Emachines Tech.

Do you guys have some other ideas of things I could try to get it working?

Thanks.

check the battery on the motherboard
should be 3 volts

sounds like mobo or onboard video is toast

should be under warrenty... shouldnt it?

It only had a 5 month warranty which just expired last month.

I ordered a new Intel motherboard and a Pentium 3.2 ghz processor to replace it now either way. God I love Tigerdirect!

I also have an ATI Radeon 9200 pci video card and i do not get a picture on the minotor using that connection either.

I don't think just a new mobo will fit in that case because it is brand name.

Could also be memory. Usually a pc will turn on, all the lights will turn on but nothing will show up on the screen and there won't be any beeps.

So again it could be memory

best way to check if memory or motherboard

remove memory, turn unit on, if it beeps the mobo is fine, and it could be integrated video or memory.

if no beeping from mobo, your mobo is fubar'd
