Question

I know a lil bout car audio....just getting into the home audio portion of things. As mention i dropped $800 for a panasonic SA-XR50 receiver and Athena AS-F2 floor speakers. The receiver apparenlty tosses out 100rms to the speakers. I used to think they sounded pretty good, but after going back n forth from my car to home stereo, i realize the home lacks bass.

So what do i look for? (one day this will become a home theatre setup, but currently it's just home stereo. Any recommendationson subs or what to look for or get...or generally about how much power is gonna be decent?

I don't really have a price range....well $1000 is too much for a speakers, but i'll generally pay whatever is needed (or save up for it).

PS: i believe my dad gets deals on polk audio and jvc equipment if that is worthwhile and whatever else www.burtek.com can get

Tell us your absolute most you will want to pay and then we can tell you the best subs in your price range.

While paradigm does make nice subs (servo 15, pw 2200) stay away from the ps400. No low bass outta that puppy!

Athena makes some nice little subs, in a reasonable price range. Maybe look at one of theirs. I have the bigger one, PS400, and its more than adequate for my modest home theater.

M&K make great subs - especially the push-pull designs.

I have a pair of sealed single driver M&K v1250thx and they really perform. I also have a JBL 18" custom made sub with a crown amp. With the 3 my Home theatre really is better than the real theatre.

Have you thought of building one? You could to a tempest with a plate amp for relitively cheap..
