Okay somebody on here told me they got it to load just fine on XP. I bought a new copy yesterday and I can NOT get that damn thing to work. I know it is not supported for 2000 and NT (and I assume XP) but I was told it could work. I installed both with and without registering the copy. It never does ask me to input the password which is strange. I tried that stupid Compatibility thing that XP has to use with older programs. Does that EVER work on anything???? I got 3 games I want to use and I tried that feature and have yet to see it work like it says it can.

I have it with XP and have had no problems at all.It should ask for the code as soon as you start to install it.Try turning all other programs off after a fresh restart.Good luck

Ack. This is ticking me off. I have no other programs running when I try to install. When I go to install, it tells me the code right away and I write it down. Then I go through the install process and it never asks me I could try turning off the firewall and enable the direct access thing like it is by default but I can't see why that would change anything.

It should not tell you a code the code is on the back of the cd case just punch that in and its good to go just make sure you put it in right good luck

This is one reason why I hate PC gaming. While normally everything works just fine. I always seem to run into a a problem every now and then which is really stupid. The best is when I buy a game an open it and then it will not play on my computer and then the store refuses to take it back because it's been opened.

Yeah unlike my computer lately that can't even handle The Sims for once It just sends me back to the desktop. Reinstalling is a pain simply because once you install all the expansion packs it takes at least half an hour if ur lucky. so sick of it just want to play like come on why's it so hard to ask that? lol

You might wanna try getting all the updates for ur system from the windows update site and even looking on the games website for patches or common errors like this that others may have had, most games have that kind of help. (tech support)

Porsche Unleashed was the buggiest of all NFS games put out. It was unstable in both my systems. It was just horrible. I could have given you my copy for what it was worth, Chad. LOL

^ I had a bootleg copy on my previous PC with 98 on it. Never once had a problem with PU being buggy. Not once.

The ONLY thing I can think of is I have not loaded up service pack #1 for XP. All other updates are current. I have not loaded it because I am using a friends legit copy of XP with his password. He said if I load SP1, it sends the info to Microsoft and they will find out I am using his already-registered copy of XP, which would be bad.

The code for PU was given when the game boots up because it is now a "NFS Classic" game of which was $8.99 to buy. No big box or install manual, just the CD in the case.

I have been running mine on Windows 98 for about 4+ years without too much trouble, sorry to hear that man.
