IMO it all depends on the owner and how they treat the dog.

Here is one dog you do not want to mess with: http://www.greatpyrenees.com/ I have come face to face with a pair of these and they will tear apart anything with a heart beat if given the chance. Apparently they are loyal to only one or two people and see everyone else as "the enemy", but I am sure they can also be a product of their environment.

Pyrenees are herding dogs..
They protect their 'herd' to the death...

However, I havent heard of many that are overly vicious to other people, they tend to be big teddy bears with people, though they dont like other dogs too much

Nothing wrong with a pitt. Same as any other dog in how it behaves. A good chunk of the dogs behavior comes down to how the animal is trained and its environment.

My pitt (Phoenix, what else) is good with people as long as I introduce you to him. He is NOT other animal friendly. That was my wrong doing for not allowing him to be with other animals. He is slowly coming around abd tolerates small or young animals.

Just do not try to touch his Kong toy, but if you can get it and throw it, your best of buds with him.

The rescued pitt (Krang`s the name, female spayed) is a wonderfull dog now. Not one problem of any sort and she was used for fighting in Merrit. T

oby the pitt that just passed away was used as a bait dog but his health just got the best of him. I lost him a month back and he took a lot of work to bring around.

Afraid of humans, other dogs, anything that moved. Never been out of a cage before. Cleaned gallons of doggy puke out of the truck on the way home, but he was worth every bit of time put into him. Gonna miss him alot.

I posted a couple pics of them over at PG`s site, but nothing for pics for Phoenix, he wont hold still long enough.

my aunt had a pyranese, it was one of the sweetest nicest dogs ive ever met, i would hardly call them aggressive letalone vicious or even comparable to a pitbull or a rottie

im thinkin most dog attacks dont happen out of the blue for no apparent reason, i know when i had a run in with a pissed off rottie, that was more then likely cus i was in HIS yard, not cus it was an overly agressive animal.
