putting pd and pw into a vehicle that doesn't have em
OK....so i'm about to pick up a grand cherokee...pretty solid price....an awesome vehicle all around cept for the fact that the idiots got a vehilce just bout fully loaded except pd and pw (buncha morons).
My question is....what all exactly would i have to do to make this vehicle have pw and pd? I know all vehicles come wired for all options from the factory whether they have them or not....but....help me out here please.

thats what the guys who i may have put in my alarm/starter told me...for them to rig up pd thru the remote would cost that....but i'd also like pw...although....pd is probably the most important

Pw can be a pain in the *** because the rollers are already cut in the door.
Basically if you really want to do it, the best way is to see of if you can strip a couple of doors from a wrecker so you can get the door skins with all the wiring and motors. Then you just have to swap all of it over and wire it in. Not a simple job, but you will get it done.

I have worked on hundreds (if not thousands, lol) of Grand Cherokee's and they all had p/dl and p/w. Anyways power locks are prety easy, FS sells pretty good actuator's for $15 and it will take about an hour and a half to put them in. For power windows the easiest is to get the kits that replace the window crank with a splined drive, that way you don't have to mess with the window regulator and such. Not sure on the pricing of the kits though. Check out offerings from SPAL. If the doors use molex plug type conections, you could probably just swap doors from a GC with the power options and be done.

I agree with DWVW. Expect to pay around $350 for the SPAL window set for just the kit - that does one pair of doors.
If the truck did not come with PW/PL then don't bet on the wiring being there. That cabling often plugs together in the KP so it may not be there. I would not use it anyway if installing aftermarket stuff.
