ok so I got all these episodes of top gear and I'd like to put em on dvd

1st problem I'm running into is they are in PAL format, how do I convert them to ntsc format, or does it matter ...will a Pal formatted dvd play in a dvd player here

Some dvd players like my jvc does pal on the fly..You can get a program called ifoedit where u can trick the dvd players into thinking there NTSC but still keeping the PAL video.. everywhere that says 720*576 u change to 720*480..Or u can use a program called dvd santa and it will convert to NTSC..

i've used the "infoedit" doug mentioned....works pretty well, and it's really simple. It's wacky that it's that easy to change.

Go and download Nerovision express. it will let you load up all the ep's you can fit on a dvd, make you a menu (optional) that you can customize, and it will output the video in whatever format you like, including NTSC...

I have used the IFO edit trick many times, and it isn't 100%. I depends on the DVD player greatly.... Nerovision is 100%

nero is very slow.....it work but very slow...and I agree with SQ Civic mine plays pal eitehr way but the the IFO trick doesn't always work...Just make sure you test soon as you burn one...so you don't make a whack load of coasters....

I have a Phillips DVP-642 that I'm sure would play an old LP if I could fit it in, best 80 bucks I ever spent.....

Try Roxio's program instead of Nero. Works great for these types of things for me
